New Race Timing Technology At The Sutherland To Surf

The IPICO Sports Dual-Frequency Sport Time-Keeping system was used in New South Wales for the very first time on Sunday 27^th July 2008 at the Sutherland to Surf. This prestigious event has been running for 37 years and this year’s event was another successful day with over 6,000 runners and walkers making the journey from Sutherland to Wanda beach in the winter sunshine. 

Chris Stephenson from The Timing Guys used the IPICO Sports  system to time all participants.  Mr Stephenson says “The world-class equipment enabled all competitors to receive a gun and net time for the first time in the race’s long history. The organizers and competitors alike were impressed by the new technology”. 

Wanda Surf Club spokesman and race organiser Mick Brannock adds “We continue to improve our event each year and the services provided by Chris and his team have catapulted us into the 21^st century”.
