At its 16 May 2008 council meeting, Cycling New Zealand endorsed Times-7 Sport as its official timing supplier.
With WheelTime being increasingly used for competitive cycling events around the country and with recent purchases of the system by Hawkes Bay Ramblers and Port Nicholson Poneke Cycling Clubs, Cycling New Zealand wanted to recommend a uniform system for timing technology on a national basis.
Wayne Hudson, a member of Cycling New Zealand's National Council, says "we have kept a close eye on timing technologies for several years and until now there has been nothing as accurate, affordable and transportable as Times-7 Sport's WheelTime".
