Buller Gorge Embraces Marathon

"Arguably the most well organised event in the country!" enthuses Murray Andersen, Event Timer for Times-7 Sport, reporting on the results of the 27th Buller Gorge Marathon.

"Everything went superbly" agrees Dennis Straker, Event Organiser of the Buller Gorge Marathon. "We had all of the results posted promptly leaving the competitors to enjoy our West Coast hospitality."

This event has everything: breathtaking scenery, enthusiastic competitors and brilliant prizes. "The whole town celebrates the event - it's like New Years Eve," says Murray. "There's no shortage of volunteers, and reportedly there's a waiting list to join the committee".

"We purchased our first IPICO DF Elite system two years ago, and added a second system this year" says Dennis Straker. "It has completely streamlined the whole timing process. We're extremely pleased with the accuracy and reliability of the results"

"It's a tricky start line," says Murray, "with the Buller Gorge being completely closed off for the event, and over 2,200 competitors lining up in a very narrow area all trying to cross the start line in a tight bunch. The IPICO system worked flawlessly."
